Showing Feedback™ Privacy Policy

This Web Site Privacy Policy is effective on January 1, 2007.

The Showing Feedback™ web site (“Site”) is a service of Proquest Technologies Management, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("Proquest" or “we”). This Web Site Privacy Policy applies only to information that we collect from this Site. This Web Site Privacy Policy does not apply to other information that we may collect.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect "automatic information" and "personally identifiable information”.

“Automatic information” is information automatically collected by our web server (which may be hosted by a third-party) that your web browser makes available whenever you visit our Site. This information may include your Internet Protocol address, the identity of your internet service provider, the type of browser that you use, and the date and time of your visit. An Internet Protocol address is a number assigned to your computer when you connect to the Internet. Our Site also uses “cookies.” A “cookie” is a small amount of data that is sent to your computer from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. When you initially visit our Site, a “cookie” is sent to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. The cookie is read by us each time you visit our Site. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some portions of our Site may not function properly without cookies.

"Personally identifiable information" is information that identifies a specific individual such as a name, postal address, and/or and an e-mail address. We collect personally identifiable information that is voluntarily provided to us through the Site. We may associate automatic information with personally identifiable information. In the event of such association, such automatic information will be considered personally identifiable information. Personally identifiable information does not include aggregate information that, by itself, does not allow for the identification of an individual person.

How Do We Use and Share the Information That We Collect?

We use personally identifiable information for the purposes for which it was collected. In addition, we may also use personally identifiable information to send publications and other marketing materials.

We may disclose personally identifiable information to (a) third parties performing services for or on our behalf (such as communications and/or marketing services), and/or (b) our affiliated entities who may use such information for marketing purposes.

We may disclose personally identifiable information when we reasonably believe that the law requires it, and/or when we have reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to, or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally), our rights or property, other users of this Site, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.

We might sell or buy subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, personally identifiable information may be one of the transferred business assets.

We use non-personally identifiable information to help us run and maintain the Site, study traffic patterns and generally learn about the usage of the Site. We may also use such information for purposes of system administration, to improve the design and content of the Site, and/or to enable us to personalize your Internet experience. We may disclose non-personally identifiable information to third parties including advertisers, business partners, and sponsors, to analyze site usage and manage and improve our business relationships.

How Can You Update Your Personally Identifiable Information?

The Site has been designed to allow you to edit, change, correct, and/or update certain personally identifiable information that you have submitted to us through the Site.

Changes to This Web Site Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to revise this Web Site Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will give you notice of the revised Web Site Privacy Policy by posting the revised Web Site Privacy Policy on the Site and by revising the "effective date” at the top of this Web Site Privacy Policy. You are responsible for regularly reviewing the current Web Site Privacy Policy. The most current version of the Web Site Privacy Policy can be reviewed by clicking on the "Privacy Policy" hypertext link located at the bottom of our web pages.

Security

Unfortunately, information transmitted on the Internet and/or stored on systems is not 100% secure. While we do not warrant or guarantee the security or integrity of any information transmitted to us over the Internet or stored on our systems, we take the following precautions.

When you submit credit card information to the Site, that information is encrypted using a Verisign secure certificate, which is recognized as industry standard. You can verify this yourself simply by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.
While we use encryption to protect personal or business credit card information transmitted online, we also protect this information offline by limiting access to such information only to employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or client services). Furthermore, the computers and servers on which we store such information are kept in a physically secure environment accessible only to those in our organization who work directly with them, like our IT professionals.
